One thing I've always found really difficult about running an online store is how to consistently categorise all of the earrings and jewellery into collections. When I launch a new batch of earrings, they usually dip in & out of various styles and colour palettes rather than sticking to one theme, and there are often new editions of existing pieces in the line up too.
Listing each theme-within-a-launch would very quickly make the collections list a nightmare for you to use, so I've kept it simple by organising all new earrings into two core collections - Botanicals, Blossoms & Blooms, and Boho, Boutique & Celestial. More collections have been added as they've been needed, such as the Everyday Stud Earrings collection and the Birth Flower Necklaces collection.
Within each collection you've been able to narrow down your preferences by using filters for colour, metal, style & price, which made it easier to narrow down a selection of earrings you'll love, but wasn't able to show you all of the earrings or jewellery pieces in a certain series, like the Ivy Earrings or the Bouquet earrings. To do that, you'd have to use the general search function or browse through one of the two core collections.
But I've finally figured out how to add proper filters for design too! Which means every pair of earrings, necklace or accessory has now been organised into one or more design filters within each collection. This shop update is especially handy for when you've seen us at a market and want to order the earrings you saw on display there!
The new filters can be used everywhere on the website that products are listed, so you can use them on the All Jewellery, New Arrivals & Sales pages as well as the two core collections. You can also use them when you're shopping by style (hooks/studs/huggies/hoops) or material (stainless steel/gold plated stainless steel/925 sterling silver). This means that wherever you are on the website, you'll be able to pluck out all of the Sunflower Earrings or all of the jewellery Made With Black Sand just by ticking a box! It's a subtle update but it's there to make your shopping experience at Arias just that little bit smoother and more intuitive, so you don't have to spend ages scrolling endlessly or wondering if you've already missed the earrings you've been looking for!
As new styles arrive and favourites return, I'll be keeping the design filters up to date and adding new ones - so let me know if you have any suggestions for new ways to shop!
