There's something special about jewellery that's tailored to the person receiving it. Not in a generic 'personalised' way, where you stamp a name on to a pendant and call it done. I mean more in a way that says: here's something you can wear to remind you that i see you.
That's the idea behind our birth flower necklace collection. Every piece is connected to a specific month, a specific flower, a specific meaning. When you know which one belongs to your person, choosing a gift becomes a whole lot easier.
What makes these necklaces different
Every piece in the birth flower collection is sculpted by hand in our Auckland studio. Polymer clay and a needle, carving out the finer details of each flower, then set on a classic diamond-shaped base. By blending a timeless silhouette with an intricately sculpted floral design, they're a whimsical take on a classic vintage style.
Once you've chosen the flower, you can customise further: a vintage white or raven black polymer clay pendant, on either a silver stainless steel chain or a gold plated stainless steel chain. After you've chosen, your necklace is handmade in our Auckland studio before making its way to you.
Choosing the right flower
Just like birthstones, each birth flower is associated with a different month and carries its own meaning. You can choose by birth month, but there's nothing stopping you from choosing whichever flower resonates with you or reminds you of the person you're buying for.

For the friend who wears jewellery every day
A birth flower necklace sits in the sweet spot for everyday pieces. Delicate enough to forget you're wearing it, but it's also cute enough to catch your eye when you look in the mirror. Our pendants sit on a fine stainless steel or gold chain, so they layer well, work with most necklines, and don't compete with anything else.
If she already has a gold collection, choose the gold chain. Silver for a silver wearer. If you're not too sure, I usually say silver is the safer guess. It tends to go with with more mixed metal collections.

For the one who's hard to buy for
The beauty of a birth flower gift is that it doesn't require you to know her taste in the usual way. It just asks you to know which month she was born. It's knowledge that shows you know her and care! Much more personal and meaningful to receive.
Pair the necklace with a card that explains what her flower means. That will be what turns a necklace into a moment!
For someone going through something
Some flowers carry meanings that feel right for particular seasons of life. May's lily of the valley is associated with sweetness and motherhood, which makes it a beautiful thing to give someone who has just become a mum, or for Mother's Day. September's aster means patience and hope. December's narcissus means renewal and reflection.
For the nature lover
If the person you're buying for notices what's blooming on a walk, tends to pick up interesting leaves, or just finds the natural world magical, a birth flower necklace is a particularly good fit. It's jewellery that connects to something she already loves. Nature-inspired pieces aren't a trend for people like that. They're just a reminder of something soothing and familiar.
